705 is a Nigerian artist and producer. Born in Surulere Bankholemoh, Lagos, Nigeria and raised by his grandmother after moving to London in 2001. Influenced by so many great artists such as King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti, Michael Jackson, Tupac, 50 Cent, Wiz Kid, Wande Coal and D’Banj, 705’s sound is a fusion of African afrobeats, R&B and Hip-Hop Music. The Nigerian-born recording artiste started making music whilst in secondary school participating in small free-styling and rap battling sessions with friends and fellow pupils, 705 took this further by making beats with reason and cubase self-teaching and learning the basics in music production before going on to study music technology at the college level after finishing secondary school.
The recording artist’s first performance took place at the Hoxton Hall in 2008 performing at the venue with local acts at an event put together by Frost Bite for the young music enthusiast of the local community. The London-based recording artist has performed at numerous events ever since with his most notable event being at the o2 Apollo Manchester, performing to over 1500 partygoers, opening the stage for acts like Mafikizolo, Teni and many other African greats.
Currently promoting his EP, 705 has been releasing covers to prominent afrobeats songs such as Pheelz & Dave – Electricity, Rexxie ft Naira Marley & Skiibii – Abracadabra and many more, this has been well received by music enthusiast recently 705 achieved over 500,000 Total plays on audiomack and Spotify monthly listeners in the thousand mark.
