Nigerian Afro-fusion artist, vocalist, and songwriter, Inkboy, has released a new single from his upcoming EP. The song, titled “Crazy Things,” showcases Inkboy’s diverse talents. He has gained recognition for his songwriting abilities, having written for renowned artists such as Falz, Olakira, and Masterkraft. Inkboy rose to prominence after collaborating on Sarkodie’s “One Million Cedi’s” from his JAMZ album. What sets him apart from his peers is his unique blend of rap and singing, coupled with exceptional writing skills.
“Crazy Things” is a poetic expression of Inkboy’s life experiences, touching on the way people judge and perceive others without truly knowing them. Inkboy encourages listeners to stay true to themselves despite others’ opinions, as he believes “everyone is mad in their own way.” The single showcases a refreshing and distinct sonic perspective, fusing elements of Afrobeat, dancehall, and a hint of calypso, beautifully arranged and produced by Quality Sound.
This song serves as the introduction to his upcoming EP titled “Love and Diamonds,” set to be released in June. “Love and Diamonds” consists of five tracks that Inkboy believes will provide fans with a glimpse into his musical style and offer a better understanding of him as a person and his creative process. In his words, “In the end, it’s a crazy world, everyone is stuck in their ways, and surely they are right in their own way.” With its infectious beats, “Crazy Things” is bound to get listeners dancing, as Inkboy firmly believes that “the song will speak for itself.”
