Francis Akpey, better known by his stage name Okyefour, is a music artist and songwriter from Ghana.
At the recently concluded 1st African Awards, which were organized by LoversGH Network Ltd., Okyefour was named Artiste of the Year on June 11, 2022. The program aims to honor and award individuals from all over the African continent who are making significant contributions to the music and arts industries and other fields of culture.
Okyefour was raised in a family of six and is from New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region (6). They are both Voltarians. After their marriage, the parents moved to New Edubiase, where their child was born and raised.
The gifted writer and composer from Ghana never lost up on his aspirations because he truly believes in them.
WHY MUSIC AS A CARRIER
Chose Music because of the love and passion he had for it and it has being a desire for him since childhood.
MY INSPIRATION
Through supplications and prayers, God has always been the source of musical inspiration.
Were you given the chance to alter one thing about our sector, what would it be? He said, “One thing I will change in the music business is impacting the Word of God and giving guidance to young people and emerging young people through my songs.”
The trend of songs (love songs) is one method, and it has led all musicians to believe that’s the only path you can use to be a hit in the industry, but I want to prove them incorrect. By doing this, it has led waywardness in our youth by encouraging drug usage and other vices.
MY FEELING TOWARDS THE #1ST AFRICAN AWARD SCHEME
When I initially learned that I had been nominated, I thought, “This is a one-time opportunity so I had to put in my best cause who knows what would come out of it.” “This was a terrific experience and I was extremely happy and honored because not everyone could receive such a privilege like this.”
Being named Artiste of the Year was an incredible sensation, and the support from the people was overwhelming.
One thing I will mention is that God has been involved from the beginning and that He is the one who has made it possible for all of this to occur.
TALKING ABOUT PREPARATION
Yes, I was well prepared for this occasion since I told myself that I had no other job outside music and that no one would encourage or push me forward. As a result, I viewed the inaugural African Award as a fantastic opportunity to learn more about myself.
My biggest appreciation goes to Future Kynn the CEO, who has been a tremendous help and may God richly reward him. My fans, family, and friends were all very encouraging throughout the voting process, and they really showed me love.
I want to let everyone know that loversGh Network ltd and the 1st African award are totally legitimate and that they are here to develop and nurture fresh, rising artists.
