Man Blames Ignorance and Poverty for Defrauding Car Dealer Adesuwa Renne Ogiozee
Joseph Olawuyi Olaosebika, a young Nigerian man, has been arrested by Nigerian police for fraudulently obtaining a vehicle valued at over N30 million from a US-based car dealer, Adesuwa Renne Ogiozee, owner of Reneestar Autos in 2016.
Olawuyi allegedly scammed $560,000 from his American victim through a romance scheme. He claims that the car dealer, unaware of the fraudulent nature of the funds, accepted payment from his “lover,” who was being conned out of large sums of money. This money was then used to purchase a Mercedes Benz GLE350, which was delivered to Olawuyi in Nigeria.
Eight years later, Olawuyi has been apprehended after the car dealer, who suffered considerable hardship due to the fraud, after she filed a complaint against him.
Olawuyi expressed regret for his actions, insisting he never intended to harm the car dealer. He apologized for the trouble he caused and sought forgiveness, attributing his involvement in the crime to ignorance and poverty.
