This might be the start of a new era for the people of Jebako as the Glo-sponsored drama series, The Village Headmaster, enters its 43rd episode.
The power struggle between Regent Adenike and Prince Adeyinke reaches a dramatic turn in this episode, as the Ifa Priest declares Prince Adeyinka Oyebade as the chosen one and the new King of Jebako. In a shocking move, Regent Adenike gracefully stepped down, earning her praises from the chiefs and the new king. Accordingly, the new king offered her a chieftaincy position among his other advisors, stating that there are other ways to serve the people besides being king. However, she refused the offer, saying it was time for her to get married and start a family. But is this truly the end of her reign? Could there be a hidden motive behind her seemingly peaceful surrender?
Meanwhile, back in Oja Village, the Olori, Prince Adeniyi’s mom and Teacher Ese meet for a heart-to-heart, with the Olori sharing the expectations and sacrifices that come with joining the royal family. As the future Olori, Teacher Ese is faced with a tough decision – to compromise for her love to thrive or to give it all up. When love and duty collide, does love conquer all or will the demands prove too overwhelming for her?
In spite of his uncle’s warning to stay clear because she belongs to the prince, and despite the consequences if he does not, it appears Izu’s interest in Teacher Ese is not fading any time soon. Izu is willing to pursue Teacher Ese despite the warnings and her clear lack of interest. But how far is he willing to go to get her attention? And will he succeed in the face of her love for the Prince?
Tensions seem to be mounting over the construction of a mast on Chief Dagbolu’s land. The Kabiyesi, the Prince, and the council of elders are trying to find a solution, and meet at a compromise, but Chief Dagbolu is clear and unrelenting in his opinion of the project. He’s demanding that the company vacate his land or face a legal battle. Will the King diffuse this situation before it spirals out of control? Or will this turn into a full-blown legal showdown?
Just a little extra, Princess Adenike, the former Regent of Jebako is in Oja Village to visit the Kabiyesi. She comes bearing a proposal for Kabiyesi, but to whose benefit? You’ll just have to watch and see!
