Ibadan’s Stone Café Celebrates Grand Reopening After Major Renovations
Stone Café, the beloved restaurant, bar, and grill in Ibadan, Oyo State, is reopening on Thursday, May 30, 2024, after a comprehensive renovation that began on March 25, 2024.
Since opening in 2020, Stone Café has been a cornerstone of the local hospitality scene. With its reopening, the café is introducing new features and a week of exciting events to celebrate.
Owner Asiwaju Segun Olalere expressed his excitement in a recent interview. “We’ve taken this time to upgrade and enhance the Stone Café experience. From new furniture to improved lighting, every detail has been carefully considered to provide the best environment possible.”
The festivities will begin on Thursday, May 30, at 10 PM with a performance by Lagos-based band Alternate Sounds, who will play until daybreak. “We wanted to start our reopening with a bang, and Alternate Sounds will bring the energy we need,” Olalere said.
On Friday, four DJs will take the stage, mixing old school and new school music for a night of nostalgia and contemporary hits. “It’s going to be a vibrant mix that caters to all tastes,” Olalere noted.
Saturday will feature a special performance by Nigerian comedian Dele Omo Woli, promising an evening of laughter and entertainment. “Dele Omo Woli is a crowd favorite, and we’re thrilled to have him bring his unique humor to Stone Café,” Olalere added.
The celebration will wrap up with YOLO Sunday, a themed event designed for relaxation and enjoyment. “YOLO Sunday is about unwinding and enjoying life. We’ll have live acoustic music and special brunch menus to help everyone relax and recharge,” said Olalere.
The renovations at Stone Café include sturdy treated chairs, new furniture, and enhanced lighting to create a better ambiance. “We’ve invested in top-notch lighting to create a warm and inviting atmosphere,” Olalere explained. “Our new décor combines modern aesthetics with comfort, making it a perfect spot for both casual and formal gatherings.”
To ensure patron safety, the café now has improved security measures, including security personnel and a comprehensive CCTV system. “Customer safety is our priority,” Olalere emphasized. “We’ve spared no expense in ensuring a secure environment. In addition to security guards, we’ve also installed emergency response systems.”
In addition to the physical upgrades, Stone Café continues to offer unique services, such as a weekly fitness family event every Saturday. Guests can enjoy exercise sessions followed by a healthy breakfast. “It’s all about promoting wellness and community,” Olalere explained. “Our fitness sessions are led by professional trainers, and the breakfast includes fresh, organic options.”
Stone Café prides itself on providing genuine products, with all beverages sourced directly from distributors. “We guarantee no fake drinks; all beverages are sourced directly from distributors,” assured Olalere. “We believe in quality and authenticity, which is why we partner only with reputable suppliers.”
The café also maintains a standard of premium dressing for both staff and customers, reflecting the high-quality service they aim to deliver. “Our staff are dressed to impress, and their professionalism matches the quality of our service, which is also what we expect from our customers,” Olalere stated.
Despite the upgrades and premium services, Olalere insists that prices remain competitive. “We’re not driving customers away with our prices. Our services are worth every penny, and we ensure great value compared to others,” he said. “We want everyone to experience the luxury and comfort of Stone Café without breaking the bank.”
“We invite everyone to come and see the new Stone Café. It’s better than ever, and we can’t wait to share it with our community,” Olalere concluded.
