Could it be the demands of being a child prodigy when kids his age are still suckling, buried somewhere under mother’s bosom or maybe the moniker which could well pass these days as a metaphor for talent and consistency? One thing holds true though for the artiste known as Righteousman and that is the fact that long after his contemporaries had become relics, the artiste is still holding up the torch for reggae/dancehall music with a bias for roots reggae.
Soon after overrunning his birth place Benin – city and environs as a teenage star at NTA Benin entertainment flag show, Music Panorama. Righteousman headed for Lagos where as a seventeen year old, he promptly caught the eyes of Felix Liberty, now a pastor and one Nigeria’s pop stars of the 80s.
Several hot singles after, the artiste caught the scene napping with what has been described as one of the most compelling and earthshattering songs reminiscent of Majek Fashek’s ‘’Send Down the Rain’’ of the early 90’s, titled ‘’NO’’. Even the remix version of same song was an even bigger hit attracting the support of about all the biggest stars on the scene at the time, which made the song the only song to accommodate the highest number of featured artistes anywhere in Naija.
To the surprise of all, Righteousman has over time, built an admirable soar-away repertoire in pretty much every online stores worth its salt and still counting. To further swell the ranks is the release of a brand new single titled ‘’Miracle’’ available on all digital platforms. According to the artiste, the song is a true life story intent on encouraging his fans to believe that things can change for the better.
